Hey Bat-fans!

We have a fun update for you today! We scheduled Lance from Learn to Play Games to do a cooperative playthrough of BTAS Adventures. Originally, this was going to be a pretty straightforward rules overview and playthrough, however, Lance got his copy of TMNT Adventures in and wanted to show the two systems combined. As you'll see, Lance has created his own scenario and gives a little bit of world building to explain the reason for the team up.

As a reminder, we have our Villain Pack Upgrade poll going on still. We're only 5k from unlocking our first villain, which, right now, is looking like it will be Bane. Remember, you can vote ONCE A DAY. This poll will go on until the end of the campaign, unlocking a new villain as a hero for every $20k we move past!

Villain Upgrade Pack side goals

Hey Bat-fans,

Over the course of this campaign we’ve heard a pretty consistent request for more playable villains in the Villain Upgrade Pack. However, as much unity as there was in that request, there were some…  disagreements... about who should be the first to be added. I mean when THE Rupert Thorne is in your comments, but not in your VUP, well, let’s just say it makes for a pretty awkward situation.

So today we’re introducing Villain Upgrade Pack side goals. So what are side goals? Well, they’re kind of like stretch goals, but earning them is independent of the bigger goals we’re currently working towards.  For every $20k we earn between $1,140k and the END OF THE CAMPAIGN we will add another playable villain to the VUP. These will be unlocked in tandem with our current campaign stretch goals.

So, we’re about to start adding tons of characters to the VUP, right? But how do we decide who we unlock first? Great question, me.

Each time we cross a $20k side goal, we’ll take the top voted villain and add them into the pack! What if the top voted villain is already added? Another great question, me! You’re on fire today! Then we will add the next highest voted, and so on. We will also update the poll to include any new villains we unlock as stretch goals as they’re unlocked. Although, you can vote for Mighty Mom now, because we have faith she'll be unlocked soon (and Pete might kill us if we didn’t).

As we unlock these villains we’ll update this graphic on the main page showing what villain has been added. Don’t worry about the current length of this chart, we’ve just designed it for the foreseeable future. We’ll keep adding to it as we cross those $20k marks until the end of the campaign.

Alright, Bat-fans, now you know what you have to do: get to voting, and getting your friends to vote, so that we unlock your favorite baddie first!

PAX East wrap up!

While you’re here, we wanted to send a shout-out to everyone who made our PAX East demos possible. Thank you to Knight Moves Cafe for hosting us, Sam for his rad photography and videography skills, and our team of demoers who fought the Man-Bat more times than we can count -- Richard, Bryan, and Timothy.

Hey Bat-fans,

We’ve crossed the $1,080k line and so we’ve added The Demon’s Quest campaign to all pledge levels!

Next up we have a standup comedian-turned-criminal, Pack Rat! But what could have caused him to go so zany? Who else will fall prey to this madness?!

If you’re on the DC Unlimited app or community forums, Pete Walsh, the game’s co-designer, will be doing a Q&A there at 8pm eastern, 5pm pacific. You can join the community forums without subscribing to DCU, but the website is blocked in some countries due to its streaming region locks.
