It’s Heeeerrre!!! Final Box Art Has Arrived.
almost 4 years ago – Sat, Feb 06, 2021 at 11:36:51 PM

Well, the subject line just about said it all! We poured over all of your feedback, talked it through with our art team, debated the pros and cons of a few different paths, and arrived here. It’s classic, sophisticated, and will look downright sleek on your shelf. It also features some downright iconic imagery. May we present...Batman: The Animated Series Adventures Shadow of the Bat!

Now, please keep in mind that we just received the final clearance for this. We’ll be reaching out to all of our partners over the next few days to assemble updated timelines for shipping. As soon as we have those ETAs in hand, we’ll pop back in here for a quick update. Until then, we wish you all a Bat-tastic weekend! 🦇

Roll The Dice 🎲
almost 4 years ago – Wed, Jan 20, 2021 at 10:04:40 PM

Greetings, Gothamites.

We know that you likely clicked this update at lightspeed trying to hear news about the updated box art. Unfortunately, we do not have any news to share yet. As soon as we do, we’ll pop in here with an update--whether that falls on our regularly scheduled Friday or not.

For today’s update, we’ll be taking a closer look at the VUP. A lot of this information can be found scattered about the internet, but we thought having one handy, bookmarkable link would be a useful asset for our villainous friends. First up, the rules:

To make things even more interesting, we’ve also been party to several discussions where players plan on turning dice pool creation into a draft! With this method, you’d have a central pool of dice and take turns choosing one. For fairness' sake, whoever chooses their character first should go last on the dice pull (and vice versa). Now, if you’re looking to take that concept to the next level entirely, a group of Gothamites could also expand the central dice pool with dice stolen from conquered “heroes” over the course of a campaign!

For those of you who find that chaotic concept entirely too wild, we’ve also put together a list of recommended dice to make each villain in the VUP play true to character.

Wild Card (Joker colors)

  • Baby Doll
  • Calendar Girl
  • Clock King
  • Harley Quinn
  • The Joker

Brawler (Scarecrow colors)

  • Bane
  • Duplicant
  • Killer Croc
  • Man-Bat
  • Maxie Zeus
  • Mighty Mom
  • Ra’s Al Ghul
  • Red Claw
  • Scarecrow
  • Talia Al Ghul

Assassin (Riddler colors)

  • Condiment King
  • Firefly
  • Livewire
  • Pack Rat
  • Penguin
  • Poison Ivy
  • Riddler
  • Ventriloquist
  • Two-Face

Bruiser (Freeze colors)

  • Jarvis Tetch (Mad Hatter)
  • Lock-Up
  • Mr. Freeze
  • Rupert Thorne

How do you plan to pick out your dice when it comes time to take down the Bat-fam? 🦇

Happy New Year’s Eve, Gothamites!
almost 4 years ago – Fri, Jan 01, 2021 at 05:30:53 PM

Hey there, caped crusaders!

Since a lot of folks are off for the holiday tomorrow, we’re just popping in for a moment today to wish you all a safe and suitably celebratory evening. May your coming year be filled with good friends, good games, and some amazing animated adventures. Finally, for a thematic way to say farewell to the year 2020, we’d like to introduce today’s Gothamite guest stars:

TMNT Shipping Update & Your Printable Holiday Treat
about 4 years ago – Sat, Dec 19, 2020 at 02:23:41 AM

Hey there, caped crusaders!

To start today’s update, we’d like you all to know that we are discussing everyone’s detailed feedback on the new cover art and are working with our art team to find a solution that you’ll be proud to showcase on your shelves.

Next up, we have a shipping update for all BTAS backers who pledged for one of the TMNT All The Loot bundles. US, Mexico, and South America orders have all been shipped. As for our international backers, here are our timelines by region:

Asia: Currently in transit and due into port in late December. Shipments have been taking much longer than usual due to the pandemic, but we will provide an update as soon as the bundles arrive at our fulfillment house.

Canada: Bundles will be delivered to our fulfillment partner by the end of December, with all orders most likely being fulfilled in January.

Aus/NZ: Your bundles will be shipping out from the US in early January with a February arrival in port. All orders will most likely be fulfilled in late Feb/early March.

EU: Labels are currently being printed, and bundles are in transit to the IDW Warehouse. Labeling will happen in January before shipping to Germany for an estimated arrival to backers of March. For more details on the necessary re-labelling for these boxes, please see update #70

Finally, for the fun part! Here to introduce your holiday party printable, courtesy of the Clown Prince of Crime, is our very own Pete Walsh:

Hey there, fellow inmates! As a special treat this holiday season, we have created a special digital Christmas with The Joker character sheet! This new version of The Joker packs a punch and behaves completely different to his Shadow of the Bat counterpart. The cooperative version enables all the minions to carry SmileX gas (you better pack plenty of gas masks!) while the competitive version is the gift that keeps on giving! The villain player can play The Joker's skill cards into a hero's empty skill card slot, taking away their ability to play a card! Christmas with The Joker can be substituted for any villain leader card during the initial set up phase. Happy Holidays!

From all of us here at IDW Games, we’d like to express our gratitude for your continued support and constructive feedback. We count ourselves lucky to have such an engaged and enthusiastic community, and we look forward to many more adventures with all of you in the new year. From our family to yours, we wish you a Merry Christmas and happy holidays! 🎄

A Quick Shipping Update, Surprise Art Drop, And Allies For The Weekend
about 4 years ago – Sat, Dec 05, 2020 at 01:14:27 AM

Greetings, Gothamites!

While everything is progressing and we’re thrilled with our final factory samples, a recent policy change with our licensor has resulted in the need for new box art and one final round of approvals. The overall art style has been maintained, so you’ll still enjoy the same nostalgic aesthetic you’ve come to know and love. However, this minor change paired with the multitude of boxes included in this campaign and the upcoming holiday season will mean a small delay in shipping.

We know that our original estimated delivery date of December means that some of you may have pledged here in order to give an epic gift to your favorite Bat-fan. We greatly appreciate your faith in us and that you planned to share our creation with friends and loved ones. To that end, our next update will contain a printable holiday pack that you can wrap up under the tree with a promise of adventures in the new year. We’ve seen Pete’s work in progress, and we know that it’s sure to put a smile on everyone’s faces.

(No, seriously. There’s Smile-X involved!)

We will keep our entire backer community updated as these changes are processed and final shipping details become available. Until then, we will continue our biweekly updates and be available anytime for questions via Kickstarter, social media, or [email protected]. We greatly appreciate your support and patience, and we look forward to hitting the streets of Gotham with you when your games arrive.

Since this seems like a good time to call for reinforcements, we’ll send you off to the weekend with a whole suite of allies. If you have any questions about today’s update, just send up the bat-signal down in the comments!
